Project Description:
Talison Lithium’s mining and processing operation is located near Greenbushes in Western Australia. Its Greenbushes operations have undergone a number of expansions over the past 30 years to maintain its position as a major supplier of lithium mineral concentrates.
In May 2018, as a continuation of the Talison Lithium expansions, Mondium as EPC contractor commenced engineering, procurement and construction of the Tailings Retreatment Project (TRP).
The project takes reclaimed tailings from an existing tailings storage facility and processes the contained Lithium content to produce a saleable Lithium concentrate.
Scope of Work:
Mondium carried out all works as an EPC contractor including all engineering, procurement, management of site subcontractors. Self-performed structural, mechanical, and piping construction for the project.
The contract included the design and construction of detailed earthworks, concrete works, structural, platework, electrical and instrumentation works and controls for the Tailings Process Retreatment Plant.
The project was completed in early 2022, ahead of schedule.
