Project Description:
Galaxy Resources’ (now Allkem) Mt Cattlin operation produces a lithium concentrate (spodumene). The Yield Optimisation Project included the design and construction of four new process modules to increase yield optimisation of the plant.
The works included optimisation of the existing lithium processing facility to increase production and quality of yield and reduce process water usage by way of various process upgrade opportunities in the ultrafines, secondary floats, optical sorting circuits, dewatering, and other areas.
Scope of Work:
An EPC contract for the design, engineering, construction and commissioning of the following circuits within an operating plant environment.
Mondium’s engineering, procurement and construction scope of work included the design, engineering, construction and commissioning of the fines recovery circuit, including wet high-intensity magnetic separation; secondary floats re-liberation circuit; optical sorting circuit; process water upgrade; and miscellaneous brownfield plant modifications and upgrades. The work was undertaken within an operating plant environment.
